POEM: PRISONERS
“Prisoners”
(BY: ERIC GAJEWSKI….FROM THE WORK FORTRESS OF THE SOUL)
In His Prison, just below the earth where He was Held
He saw every man and woman bound by the serpent
He saw every man who was enslaved by all evil passions and even those unknowingly
And He gladly absorbed our punishment being tied to a pole
Unable to sleep nor even rest his legs for His Divine Love would not let Him
Knowing that in a day many of these men and women
Would see these chains which bound Him by Love and would be set free by grace
That they would turn their back on their old self and their old ways
And so you stayed there in the dark, hidden away below the earth
Just as you do in every soul hiding in the dark ready to announce the Dawn
And alas, you cried aloud to the father, then say it is finished
And all I can see and hear is the sound of the popping of these chains to every sin from the start of mankind falling off, and liberating souls
And thus I stood around beneath your Cross in a pool of Blood, under the dark sky, witnessing the chains of men broken free, and now we are no longer Prisoners.”
